The Singer from Almeria left the perfume of her musical and humane experience at Clasijazz.
New York is the epicenter of Jazz”. States with all sincerity the singer from Almeria that changed the bay of Almeria for the Hudson River. She has it very clear since eight years ago when she decided to leave behind the life she had known since. Because life also managed to painfully leave behind one of the most important reasons she had to keep on living.
Last week, with her deep and confident voice and dazzling smile Noemi returned to Almeria. Taking over the stage at Clasijazz and brightened the lives of the people who crowded the Concert Hall. Hundreds of people that wanted to share this return, transforming this evening “in a very special night” as said by the singer herself on the brink of emotional tears.
There was something in the eco of her songs that evoked imaginary and imaginable nights of New York jazz clubs, the epicenter of this music that has emotionally taken over the whole planet in less than half a century.
Concert Noemi Perez opened her awaited show with a proper theme that was in truth a remembrance to her husband (“I will be here”) and later unleashed all her musical passion wrapped by the magical understanding of the musicians. Accompanied by Pablo Mazuecos at the piano, Fafi Molina on base and Miguel Canale at the drums, Noemi Perez sang and explained two blocks of very differentiated themes. The first, in standard Key and the second part dedicated to songs in spanish of different origins with special attention to singers like Silvia Perez Cruz or Marta Valdez. Or with a very peculiar bolero that made the spaniard singer Pedro Ruy Blas famous: “The Opened Door”.
An ample gallery of musical motifs and styles that, in depth, represent the same intent, the same accumulation of favorable elements: the music, the memories most cherished, the distance solved by just a few days, the same musicians…
After an endless chain of greetings, Noemi Perez relaxed a bit the tension caused by the emotional encounters and valued aspects of the life in New York, that vital experience that has made her “grow as a person and as an artist.” Working as a music teacher at the prestigious school where kids like Tom Cruise’s daughter attend. Because like the singer from Almeria states “Everything happens in New York”. Moreover “Jazz is heard everywhere. You can feel a special energy”.
She is thinking of returning to Almeria, but it can be difficult to break “the intricate network of people and situations that can only be found in New York” A city, that for this singer linked by strong ties to the Almeria Conservatory and to Clasijazz, offers the most excitement and the most pains of life: in sum, the keys to music.

We would like to thank our fans, sponsors and our team in general that continue to believe in us, enjoy our music and attend our venues. More importantly, none of this would have been possible without the help, support and great spirits of my dear friend Albert Alabedra who's exemplary guitar performance and perseverance have allowed us to soar to new musical Heights. Thank you so much my dear Albert!
